Welcome to Endorse for a Cause! We respect your privacy as we do our own.

This Privacy Policy describes Endorse for a Cause's policies and procedures on collecting, using, disclosing and securing your information. Endorse for a Cause (EFAC) receives your information through the EFAC website, APIs and third-parties (collectively known as the "Services"). When using any of our Services you consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. Irrespective of which country in which you reside or from which you create information, your information may be used by EFAC in the United States or any other country where EFAC operates. If you reside outside the U.S. your personally identifiable information may be transferred to the U.S., and processed and stored there under U.S. privacy standards. By visiting our Services and providing information to us, you consent to such transfer to, and processing in, the US.
 

Our Privacy Principles

  • 1. We will never distribute or share your email address to anybody without your consent.
  • 2. We aim to provide you control of your personal information through your Member Page and\or at the time of your activity.
  • 3. The only exceptions to these principles are if we need to disclose this information to comply with the law or protect our rights in our site.

1. INFORMATION COLLECTION

  • a. Member Registration: When you create or change your EFAC account, you provide personal information, such as your name, username, password, location and email address. Some of this information is listed publicly on our Services, including your name and user name on your profile page and in search results.
  • b. Member Updates: You may also provide us with additional information to make public, such as a personal mission statement, a testimonial for your Cause, location, or a picture. Providing the additional information described in this section is entirely optional.
  • c. Shopping\Endorsing: Endorsing and shopping at retailers are key components of the EFAC experience. Member and visitor visits to retailer sites, shopping and other activities may be captured and stored. This information allows us to allocate funds back to the Causes and improve our Services.
  • d. Member and Visitor Activity: Our servers automatically record information created by your use of the Services. This may include information such as your IP address, browser type, the referring domain, pages visited, and search terms. Like many websites, we use "cookie" technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve our Services, but we do not require cookies for many parts of our Services. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer's hard disk. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by editing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. Turning cookies off may prevent certain features of the Services from functioning properly.
  • e. Social Networks: EFAC collects and stores personal information from the social networks connected by the Member.
  • f. Third Party Services: EFAC may take advantage of a variety of services hosted by third parties to help provide our Services, such as a hosted blog, and to help us understand the use of our Services, such as Google Analytics. These services may collect information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, such as cookies or your IP request.
  • g. Children: Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at privacy@endorseforacause.com. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child's account
  • h. Member Data Changes and Deactivation: If you deactivate your account or change your data or content, we usually update our live databases immediately. However, some data may update more slowly, and some old data may remain in our archives. Also, we may be unable to share changes to partners who receive your data or content. If your account is terminated or suspended, we may maintain some data to prevent the re-registration of this account type. Endorsement you have published may remain accessible.

2. INFORMATION USAGE, SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

  • a. Contacting You: On occasion we may use your contact information to send your "Impact Dispatch" and other notifications. You may turn the Impact Dispatch on\off through your Member Page. Information about our Services and your account will be sent to inform you of services, features and account access. If you email us, we may keep your message, email address and contact information to respond to your request.
  • b. Sharing with our Causes: You have the option upon selecting a Cause to give us permission to send your personal information to your Cause. This information allows the Cause the ability to contact you directly using the information you provided. The Cause's use of that information is determined by the Privacy Policy of the Causes you have selected.
  • c. Social Networks and Other Third Parties: The EFAC Services allow you to connect with certain third party services (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, and other similar services). When you send information to these third party services, that information is no longer under the control of EFAC and is subject to the terms of service and privacy policies of those third parties.
  • d. Endorsements: The endorsements published by a Member will go out over their connected Social Networks. They will also be accessible through the public Member page, search results and other locations on the EFAC site.
  • e. Retailers: Our website, endorsements and other EFAC Services contain links to other websites. Any personal information you provide on the linked pages is provided directly to that third party and is subject to that third party's privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content, privacy or security practices and policies of web sites to which we link and encourage you to learn about their privacy and security practices and policies before providing them with any personal information.
  • f. Law and Harm: We may disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect EFAC's rights or property.
  • g. Business Transfers: In the event that EFAC is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. The promises in this privacy policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity.
  • h. Non-Private or Non-Personal Information: We may share or disclose your non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information, such as your public profile information, or the number of users who clicked on a particular link (even if only one did).

3. SECURITY

EFAC takes the security of your personal information very seriously. We take security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of data of your account. Additionally, we restrict access to non-public identifying information to employees who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Site.

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be linked in the footer of the Endorse for a Cause site at http://www.endorseforacause.com. If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you via your current e-mail address associated with your account. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
